North Bay’s downtown core is poised to welcome a new community gathering place as the former Partners Bowling and Billiards undergoes a significant transformation, relaunching as Next Round Social. Located on Main Street East, the revitalized venue is set for its official opening on November 5, aiming to become a modern destination for dining and entertainment.
The rebirth of the longtime downtown landmark brings a comprehensive array of activities. The facility now features both 10-pin and 5-pin bowling, 18 billiards tables, interactive axe throwing, and a selection of arcade games. Patrons can also enjoy a unique Pixel Floor, karaoke, a full-service kitchen and bar, and dedicated event spaces designed for various celebrations, including birthdays, corporate functions, and other group gatherings. This extensive renovation represents a substantial investment in the downtown area, transforming the space into a multi-faceted hub for recreation and socialization.
Ownership of the building changed hands last year, leading to the current endeavor to reinvent the popular spot. Owner Craig Burgess told a local news report that the team has invested a great deal into creating a place for families and friends to come together, have fun, and make memories, emphasizing that "there's something for everyone." This vision aims to build upon the venue's long-standing reputation as a community staple.
The location’s history as Partners Bowling and Billiards spans nearly three decades, during which it was recognized as a downtown landmark and a community favorite. Bonnie Zufelt, who had been at the helm for this extensive period, stepped away from the business last year, leaving behind a legacy of building it into a vital community hub. The new owners now hope to expand on that established reputation, introducing modern amenities while retaining a core focus on community engagement.
The grand opening celebration for Next Round Social is structured to welcome both invited guests and the general public. An invitation-only VIP and media reception is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on opening day, which will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:15 p.m. Following this, the public celebration will kick off at 7 p.m. As an added incentive for early attendees, the first 300 guests will receive a special Grand Opening blind box filled with surprises.
With its diverse offerings and renewed focus on community, Next Round Social aims to establish itself as a central entertainment and dining option in the heart of downtown North Bay, continuing the tradition of its predecessor while introducing a contemporary experience for all ages.
